Українська федерація гімнастики висловлює свій категоричний протест та глибоке обурення у зв’язку з нещодавнім рішенням Виконавчого комітету Європейської Гімнастики  (European Gymnastics) щодо допуску спортсменів, тренерів та офіційних осіб з Росії та Білорусі до міжнародних змагань під їхніми національними символами.

Це рішення викликає у нас величезний подив та абсолютне нерозуміння. У час, коли кривава військова агресія проти України триває, коли щодня гинуть мирні люди, серед яких — українські спортсмени та тренери, а  інфраструктура нашої країни руйнується російськими ракетами, повернення представників країн-агресорів під національними символами   на міжнародну арену є неприпустимим.

Особливий шок викликає той факт, що саме європейська  гімнастична федерація  дозволяє цим спортсменам виступати під державними прапорами та гімнами.

Повернення національної символіки країнам, які відкрито нехтують міжнародним правом та принципами Олімпізму — це не просто крок назад. Це пряма легітимізація військової агресії через інструменти спорту. Російський та білоруський прапори на спортивних майданчиках сьогодні омиті кров’ю українців.

У рф та білорусі  спорт є частиною державної пропаганди. Допуск національних символів буде використаний цими режимами для демонстрації власної “безкарності” перед усім світом.

Таке рішення нівелює солідарність, яку європейські країни демонстрували з перших днів повномасштабного вторгнення.

Заклик до Генеральної асамблеї Європейської гімнастики

Українська федерація гімнастики не змириться з цим рішенням. Ми висловлюємо тверде сподівання, що Генеральна асамблея Європейської Гімнастики  виявить високу відповідальність за європейські цінності та мудрість і НЕ затвердить це рішення Виконавчого комітету.

Ми закликаємо всі національні федерації-члени Європейської гімнастики:

1. Зайняти чітку і принципову позицію під час майбутнього голосування на Генеральній асамблеї.

2. Заблокувати повернення російських та білоруських символів на європейські та світові арени.

3. Захистити чистий спорт та продемонструвати єдність у боротьбі за мир і справедливість.

Ми щиро вдячні тим країнам та колегам, які залишаються непохитними у своїй підтримці України. Віримо, що справедливість та олімпійські цінності переможуть будь-які  компроміси.

Official statement of the Ukrainian Gymnastics Federation (UGF) Regarding the Decision of the Executive Committee of European Gymnastics

The Ukrainian Gymnastics Federation expresses its categorical protest and deep indignation regarding the recent decision of the Executive Committee of European Gymnastics to allow athletes, coaches, and officials from Russia and Belarus to participate in international competitions under their national symbols.

This decision causes us immense astonishment and absolute incomprehension. At a time when the bloody military aggression against Ukraine continues, when peaceful people—including Ukrainian athletes and coaches—die every day, and our country’s infrastructure is being systematically destroyed by Russian missiles, the return of representatives of the aggressor states under national symbols to the international arena is entirely unacceptable.

It is particularly shocking that it is the European Gymnastics  federation itself that allows these athletes to compete under state flags and anthems.

The return of national symbols to countries that openly flout international law and the principles of Olympism is not just a step backward. It is a direct legitimization of military aggression through the tools of sport. Today, the Russian and Belarusian flags on sports venues are washed in the blood of Ukrainians.

The Impact on the Sporting Community

* State Propaganda: In the Russian Federation and Belarus, sport is an integral part of state propaganda. Permitting national symbols will be used by these regimes to demonstrate their own “impunity” to the entire world.

* Erosion of Solidarity: Such a decision undermines and nullifies the solidarity that European countries have demonstrated since the very first days of the full-scale invasion.

An Appeal to the General Assembly of European Gymnastics

The Ukrainian Gymnastics Federation will not resign oneself this decision. We express our firm hope that the General Assembly of European Gymnastics will demonstrate a high level of responsibility for European values and wisdom, and will NOT ratify this decision of the Executive Committee.

We call upon all member national federations of European Gymnastics to:

* Take a clear and principled stance during the upcoming vote at the General Assembly.

* Block the return of Russian and Belarusian symbols to European and world arenas.

* Protect clean sport and demonstrate unity in the fight for peace and justice.

We are sincerely grateful to those countries and colleagues who remain steadfast in their support for Ukraine. We believe that justice and Olympic values will ultimately prevail over any  compromises.
