Українська федерація гімнастики звертає увагу громадськості та засобів масової інформації на необхідність точного висвітлення останніх подій в європейському гімнастичному середовищі. Поширена у ЗМІ інформація про те, що Європейська гімнастика (European Gymnastics) вже остаточно зняла всі санкції з представників Росії та Білорусі, не повною мірою відповідає юридичній дійсності.

Насправді, Виконавчий комітет лише ухвалив рішення про підтримку рішення Міжнародної федерації гімнастики (FIG) щодо скасування обмежень. Проте будь-який допуск спортсменів та офіційних осіб країн-агресорів під національними символами на континентальному рівні НАБУДЕ чинності лише у разі його ратифікації Генеральною асамблеєю Європейської гімнастики.

У зв’язку з цим УФГ заявляє наступне:

Повний подив, нерозуміння та заклик до точності

Ми висловлюємо глибокий подив та абсолютне нерозуміння самої позиції Виконавчого комітету, який вирішив “сліпо” піти за рішенням міжнародної федерації, ігноруючи реалії війни, що триває в Європі. Коли українські спортсмени гинуть від російських ракет, а спортивна інфраструктура руйнується, спроби повернути прапори та гімни РФ і Білорусі на європейські арени є неприпустимими.

Водночас ми закликаємо медіа не створювати хибного враження, ніби справу вже вирішено. Рішення Виконкому — це не фінал, а лише проміжний крок, який потребує обов’язкового затвердження.

Онлайн-асамблея: момент істини для європейського спорту

Позачергову Генеральну асамблею Європейської гімнастики планують провести в онлайн-режимі. Саме це голосування стане ключовим тестом на моральність для кожного учасника європейської гімнастичної родини.

«Майбутня онлайн-асамблея чітко покаже, хто є хто. Саме під час цього голосування визначаться справжні друзі України та захисники європейських цінностей з-поміж європейських федерацій. Ми побачимо, хто готовий тиснути віртуальні кнопки на догоду агресору, а хто залишиться непохитним у захисті справедливості, миру та олімпійських принципів».

Заклик до національних федерацій Європи

Українська федерація гімнастики вживатиме всіх можливих дипломатичних заходів і не змириться з капітуляцією перед пропагандою режиму, де спорт є частиною державної ідеології та демонстрації “безкарності”. Ми висловлюємо тверде сподівання, що делегати Генеральної асамблеї виявлять мудрість та високу відповідальність:

НЕ ратифікують рішення Виконавчого комітету та заблокують повернення російських і білоруських національних символів.

Займуть чітку і принципову позицію під час майбутнього онлайн-голосування.

Захистять чистий спорт від кривавої пропаганди агресора та продемонструють єдність у боротьбі за мир і справедливість.

Ми щиро вдячні тим країнам і колегам, які залишаються непохитними у своїй солідарності з Україною. Ми віримо, що європейська спортивна спільнота не дозволить кулуарним компромісам знищити цінності, на яких вона побудована.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT

of the Ukrainian Gymnastics Federation (UGF) Regarding the Decision of the Executive Committee of European Gymnastics

The Ukrainian Gymnastics Federation draws the attention of the public and the media to the necessity of accurately reporting recent developments within the European gymnastics community. Information circulating in the media claiming that European Gymnastics has already definitively lifted all sanctions on representatives of Russia and Belarus does not fully reflect the legal reality.

In fact, the Executive Committee has merely voted to support a similar decision by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) to lift restrictions. However, any admission of athletes and officials from the aggressor states under national symbols at the continental level WILL ONLY come into effect if it is ratified by the General Assembly of European Gymnastics.

In this regard, the UGF states the following:

Complete Astonishment, Incomprehension, and a Call for Accuracy

We express our profound astonishment and absolute incomprehension regarding the stance of the Executive Committee, which chose to blindly follow the international federation’s decision, ignoring the realities of the ongoing war in Europe. While Ukrainian athletes are being killed by Russian missiles and sports infrastructure is being destroyed, attempts to bring back the flags and anthems of the Russian Federation and Belarus to European arenas are entirely unacceptable.

At the same time, we urge the media not to create the false impression that this matter is a done deal. The Executive Committee’s decision is not the final verdict—it is merely an interim step that strictly requires formal approval.

The Online Assembly: A Moment of Truth for European Sport

The Extraordinary General Assembly of European Gymnastics is scheduled to take place in an online format. This upcoming vote will serve as a crucial test of morality for every member of the European gymnastics family.

“The upcoming online General Assembly will clearly reveal who stands where. It is during this vote that the true friends of Ukraine and defenders of European values among the European federations will be identified. We will see who is ready to press virtual buttons to appease the aggressor, and who will stand steadfast in defense of justice, peace, and Olympic principles.”

An Appeal to European National Federations

The Ukrainian Gymnastics Federation will take every possible diplomatic measure and will not accept capitulation to the propaganda of regimes where sport is used to demonstrate “impunity” to the entire world. We express our firm hope that the delegates of the General Assembly will demonstrate wisdom and a high sense of responsibility:

DO NOT ratify the decision of the Executive Committee and block the return of Russian and Belarusian national symbols.

Take a clear and principled stance during the upcoming online vote.

Protect clean sport from the bloody propaganda of the aggressor states and demonstrate unity in the fight for peace and justice.

We are sincerely grateful to those countries and colleagues who remain steadfast in their solidarity with Ukraine. We trust that the European sporting community will not allow backroom compromises to destroy the core values upon which it was built.
